Mermaid Theatre, Puddledock London EC4 3DB (next door to Blackfriars Station) BQ will be in attendance and apparently....... "This is your opportunity to be updated on current developments and to put your views to Southeastern’s senior management team. " So a good opportunity to speak direct to those who run the service we all use!
Add Comment Sample of the suffering!! 03/19/2010
The attachments below are copies of a letter from a long suffering commuter and the DOTs reply. As you will read with interest, they are rather keen on people driving 20 miles to their nearest station!!!
NEW PETITION - Please sign if not already! 02/03/2010
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/AshfordTrains/ BQ is requesting that anyone reading this takes the time to sign the petition shown above. Feeling is still very high about these trains being axed and the plan for MDRTA is to continue piling on the pressure. Thanks for your supports guys! BQx NIGHTMARES all around us 01/21/2010
Sir John did a sterling job in the Commons with the debate - here is a link to what was debated http://www.theyworkforyou.com/whall/?gid=2010-01-06a.92.1 BQ even caught a mini snippet of it on the BBC SE News - great stuff. The bloody weather has hit us all and we had a hellish 6 hr journey attempt to get to work on 13th Jan - gave up in the end and went to the pub. NOW THEN - the committee is working on all sorts of things - a meeting is being arrange to discuss how we take things forward as the general feeling is that there is still a great sense of injustice about the loss of those services...maybe its time to up the ante! Your Journey experiences is in reality a bottomless pit of pain and suffering so if any wants to add their tales of woe please do so...... and a big thankyou to all those who have already added comments. TTFN BQx Parliamentary Debate - Wednesday 6th Jan 01/05/2010
MDRTA is pleased to announce that Sir John Stanley was able to win a Parliamentary debate for Weds 6th January. As he is a staunch supported of our cause we are all hoping he goes in with guns blazing. As time goes on the annoyance increases as to how this decision was ever reached. Any news following this debate I will record here! BQ oops and happy twennyten everyone!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING!! 12/09/2009
I regret to report that the DofT have made the decision to continue with their plans to cancel the Maidstone/W Malling to Cannon St services. 18 days & several hours to go!! 11/25/2009
AND STILL NOTHING!!!!! Believe it or not we should have a response before the end of the week! - I know its such a drag for everyone especially for those who will need to make alternative arrangements well ahead of d-day. BQ is aware that we are all sending letters to Chris Mole etc. nudging him gently for some sort of decision. The committee is trying every day to secure some form of response! Lets hope that after all this patient waiting that some form of compromise is reached rather than a flat "no change to the timetable" which is what we are all dreading. BQ has all things feasible crossed. POOR SERVICE On another subject it has been pointed out that the recent 2 weeks of service of southeast trains has been appalling. BQ can vouch that this is also the case at sevenoaks - 07:38 to cannon street is NEVER ON TIME anymore!! MDRTA is keen to hear from anyone who has suffered intolerable delays to services recently and we will take this up with southeast trains. thats all for now - lets hope we have good news shortly BQx 33 Days to go and STILL NOTHING! 11/10/2009
Our Chairman is trying every day to find out what is happening from the DofT following the survey submission and time is pressing on as only a mere 33 days until the new "reduced" timetable is launched! We are currently being told that they are still negotiating which we hope is that this will fall in our favour! MEET THE MANAGERS!! There is a "Meet the SOUTHEASTERN Managers" moment at Cannon Street Station on 12th November 0800 to 1000 for anyone who wants to ask any Qs about Services etc. so my fellow sufferers lets see if we can find out the answers to all out Qs. Good luck and let BQ know how you get on!!! Frustratingly Quiet 11/05/2009
Sorry guys but nothing to report from BQ HQ! No news is good news!!! 10/28/2009
Survey Response MDRTA has heard nothing from DofT as yet following submission of the survey. Although the timetable was published yesterday this does not mean the fight for these trains is lost as inevitably there can be amendments to the timetable at any time... So fear not friends as we are battling on and as soon as any response is recd from either SE trains, DofT or the politicians who have been assisting the campaign - it will be noted both on this website and an alert e-mail will be issued by the Secretary (Huw). MDRTA Meeting A committed meeting was held on Tues 27th Oct and although we had no response to note regarding the city services etc. a great many other subjects were discussed. If anyone who regularly uses this line (or more than likely is someone who would like to use this line if the service was more efficient and geographically suited!!) then feel free to contact any of the MDRTA committee to suggest future causes which you would like us to raise. Remember we are here to fight for the rights of the local commuters and are keen to gain more public support and opinion as to what currently is not (in all of our opinions) not working! Media Exposure For anyone who is interested there is likely to be quite a bit of media coverage this week do keep your eyes open and ears to the ground. If you find anything relevant then please let me know and I will gladly add to the website etc. Over n out for now....and keep those fingers and toes crossed.... BQx |
